Product Review: Clarisonic Mia 2

As you guys know I got a Clarisonic for my birthday a few weeks ago. I have been dying to write a review about it but I wanted to use the Mia 2 for a while before writing about it. Now that I have used the brush for about three weeks I feel that I can give an accurate review. I figured I would answers the questions I had before using the Clarisonic now that I know the answers.

What Exactly Does It Do?

During puberty I was blessed with amazing flawless skin. I had no idea what getting a pimple was like until college. After graduating college and beginning job hunting; I started having stress related breakouts. Since then I don't get much acne but I do have acne scars and I feel like my skin isn't as smooth as it once was. Well I wanted my skin back and thats why I got a Clarisonic. The brush head gently messages your face and rids your skin of all the gook from the day.

How Do You Use It?

I use my Mia 2 twice a day every single day. I wet my face with hot water then put my Cetaphil directly on the Clarisonic brush head  In the morning I use it after showering (the Clarisonic is waterproof so you can take it in the shower if you like) and then again at night. When I wear make up I use a make up removing toilette before using the Mia 2. I have a Deep Pore Brush Head that I use once a week.

What's The Maintenance Like?

After using my Clarisonic I run the brush head under hot water then dry it on a towel. I do a deep clean once a week with antibacterial soap and water. I have had my Mia 2 for three weeks and besides the initial charge I have only had to charge it once.

Does it Work?

YES YES YES!!!! My skin is soft, my dark spots have already started to leave and moisturizer goes on smoother.

Tiny Bubbles

I love Lush Cosmetics and I usually wait until the day after Christmas for their sale. I always buy bath products from Lush. There are three types of bath products that I buy; bath bombs, bath soap and bubble bars. Bath Bombs are basically little balls that are filled with everything you would want in a bath. I use Bath Bombs when I just want to relax in a bath. I do not use these when I am trying to clean my body. Bubble Bars are mounds of basically dry bubbles which I use with Bath Bombs sometimes. And Bath Soaps are basically just yummy smelling soaps that I use again these are not necessarily soaps I would suggest using if you are trying to get "clean" but they are great for moisturizing and aroma therapy. I have had this bag sitting on my floor since December 26th waiting on a reason to use my fun new items.

Here is a rundown of what I got.

1. Candy Cane Soap

2. Snow Globe Soap

3. Golden Wonder- The video doesn't tell you that there is glitter and little stars inside the bomb which is awesome!

4. Cinder Bath Bomb- This bomb smells sort of like cinnamon and candy.

5. Yet again I don't remember the name of this bubble bar. BUT it has glitter!

6. I have no idea what this one is called! I can't explain the smell either. When I use it I'll explain it better.

The Christmas Gift You Never Knew You Wanted

Isle PediSpa
One of my coworkers swear that "every girl should experience this place once in her life" and I have to agree. I went to Isle PediSpa Tuesday evening for a pedicure and it was truly delightful. I received the Mojito Mint Pedi and as I sipped my white wine I quickly forgot the high price I was paying. I will not sugar coat the fact that this pedicure is expensive but I think that everyone should do it once. If you are in a crunch to find a gift for that special lady in your life you may want to check out Isle PediSpa.

Someday We'll Find It...

O.P.I Rainbow Connection

I went to get my nails done today and got really excited when I saw they had Rainbow Connection. I also purchased the color for my mom as a christmas present.

The nail with Rainbow Connection has three coats of polish.

Tory Burch

Tory Burch Robinson East/West Tote

I'm in love with this purse. Its so classic and simple. However it is extremely heavy so I will not be using it for a shopping or busy day bag.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nails Review

I have seen a few people with these Sally Hansen Salon Effects nails. I decided to try them this weekend. The nails were easy to apply and did not take much time.  You peel and stick the nail art stickers onto your nail then file off the excess.

I have had the strips on my nails for only one day and they have peeled a bit. I think the strips are a fun change however I personally think they look like stickers. For a little over 8 dollars I recommend trying these nail strips for a fun change.

I'm a bit obsessed with...

Clean and Clear Body Wash: Charge Pomegranate & Orange Zest Morning Burst

I am an old fashion Dove bar soap kind of girl; however this new body wash has me obsessed. First off the smell is amazing and it truly does wake me up. I love the amount of lather this body wash provides. Here in Houston the temperature is unspeakably high and I feel like this body wash nourishes my dry skin. I purchased it at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars.

I'm all about the hype!

I got an Ipad 2 for my birthday a few weeks ago and I am completely and totally in love with it! When I asked for it I really wanted it for E-books and random apps. However I found some apps that I really don't know how I lived without.

Stumble Upon started out as an add-on for firefox and now they have a mobile app. You enter things that you find interesting and then you "start stumbling".  You click the stumble button and you can browse millions of random websites that Stumble Upon think you may be interested in.

Epicurious was recommended to me by a friend. This app is a compilation of recipes for any occasion. I have yet to make any of the meals featured on this app however I do enjoy scroll through the different categories.  The best thing about this app is that you can click the "shopping list" button and it complies a list of things you will need to make the recipe you are planning on cooking.

Flipboard is by far my favorite app. Flipboard puts all your favorite magazines, newspapers and blogs in one location. You simply click on a picture or section that you find interesting or want to know more about and Flipboard takes you to the article.

Blushing: Exhibit A by NARS

I love NARS cosmetics but I tend to use mainly their blushes.

I stopped by Sephora to pick up Exhibit A and when I saw it I was pretty much scared of it. I walked around Sephora for 30 minutes trying different color blushes but I still wasn't happy. I asked a make up artist to test the color on my skin and it turned out I loved the color!

It's a red/orange color.

Looking at the color alone you would think it would go on extremely harsh but that wasn't the case at all.
I love the way it looks. I think its a great summer color that adds warmth to my face!

Can I get some support?

Ok ladies, Lets talk bras!!
Some may say I have been very blessed in the chest area of my body. However I find it extremely hard to find a great fitting push up bra. I recently took a trip to Victoria's Secret to solve my problem. Check out what I found!!!

The Push-up Bra Incredible by Victoria's Secret

Here is a before and after to compare. Please ignore the huge slice of pizza in my hand.

I hope you guys can see the difference. This bra runs around 49 dollars and is totally worth the money if you are a D+ cup and struggling to find the perfect bra.

Berry Nice to Meet You

I have been reading about Yes To Carrots products online for a while. I was at Target (for the forth time this week) and I saw this lip butter. I have been using it for a few days now and I really do love it. There is no taste and really no smell. I love this lip butter because it really keeps my lips moisturized for hours.

Solving Problems

Everyone gets tired of clutter right? Well I am sick of two things... Earring everywhere and no organization for my nail polish. I decided to take a trip to The Container Store to see if I could solve my problem.

I got this Nail Polish tray for 5.99 to house all my polishes. I got so excited about the find and the price that I bought three of them however all of my bottles will not fit in the slots.
I have several China Glaze and OPI nail colors and their bottles are just to big.
I will be keeping one tray but I am still on the hunt for something a little bigger for my other bottles.
.
.
.
I wear studded earring more often than hops and I often find myself taking off my earrings and placing them on my nightstand. I hate seeing a jumbled mess of earrings everywhere so I decided to solve the problem.
I got this earring stand for 14.99 at The Container Store also.

It is perfect for all my stud earrings.
...and my hops too.

Remington Pearl Professional Curling Wand

I have been driving my friends and coworkers crazy this past week because all I have been talking about is my new Remington Curling Wand.
I purchased my curling wand at Target for about 25 dollars. The wand comes with a heat protecting glove so you won't burn your fingers. I love this wand because it has heat settings and the curls really last all day!
Excues my makeupless face! This is how my hair looks right after I curl it in the morning.
This picture was taken the same day (hints the same necklace) after hours of work and being in the Houston humidity. I did have to re-curl my bang but the rest of my hair was still curled.

Oh and I got my lovely necklace at Forever 21!

Ooh La La ;)

I love cupcakes. Yes I am on a diet but I still love cupcakes every now and then. I love to try the highest rated cupcake shops in and around Houston. I recently purchased a new car and decided to drive around and explore different areas. I stumbled upon Oh La La cupcakes in Katy, Tx. Ooh La La has been rated in the top 5 best cupcakes in the city on several websites.  The first thing I noticed about the boutique was the drive-thru (what cupcake place has a drive thru!).
Ok these cupcakes were huge! They also had a large selection of cupcakes, cheesecakes, slices of cake, and cookies. To say that I was overwhelmed was an understatement. I decided to stick with my favorite cupcake, red velvet.
Here is the box. The only negative thing I have to say about Ooh La La is that the box is way to small for the size of the cupcake.
This picture does not do the size of the cupcake justice. It took me all day to finish the cupcake and I had to eat it with a fork and knife. So I know the big question is... How did it taste?  It really took a lot of time for me to decide what I could compare it to and I still can't think of anything. The cupcake was huge in size but was also light and fluffy. The cupcake did not taste like any cupcake I have had before. It tasted more like a slice of cake, I'm not sure that makes since. I will compare the cupcake to sprinkles because I know most of you have probably tried their cupcakes. The Ooh La La cupcake was soft and fluffy and sprinkles cupcakes are a bit more stiff.

Overall I give this cupcake a 9 out of 10. I cannot give it a 10 because it isn't technically a cupcake if you eat it with a fork. Right?

I AM IN LOVE!!

Yes...it is true!! I am in love with a Lush Bubble Bar. The Comforter Bubble Bar to be exact. I cannot explain exactly how it smells but it is a mix of clean sheets and berries. If that doesn't sound great then I am not doing it justice.
The bar is about the size of my hand (I am a small girl) and a little thinker than a cell phone. I broke off a pretty big hunk and put it in my bath and immediately I was in love. The second you drop the bar into the water it begins to bubble. My water did turn a deep pink color and best of all did not leave a ring at all.I estimate that I will be able to get about four baths out of this one bar. It's a great buy and I would recommend it to anyone who likes baths.

Deep Clean Cleansing Wipes

I have a basket full of facial cleansers and I use pretty much all of them. However when I go out at night and have a coupe of drinks I am not really in the mood to wash my face. I usually just take off my contacts and go to sleep. So I have been trying to find something I can use that is quick and easy on crazy nights.
I love the Neutrogena Deep Clean face wash so I figured i would try the cleansing wipes.
I decided to clean one side of my face so I could see how well the product worked.
I did NOT liked the way the wipe smelled!
It took off pretty much all of the make up on left side of my face.
Review
Pros: Works quick and easy. You don't have to scrub your face to get the make up off. My face felt really soft after using the product.
Cons: I hates the way it smelled and it did not taste very good on my lips.

Life needs SPRINKLES!

I like desert...No I LOVE desert! I love cake and cookies, but I love cupcakes most. Whenever a cupcake bakery opens here in Houston I rush to try it out. Being a cupcake lover I felt overwhelmed with joy when I found out Sprinkles was coming to the city. I waited and waited for over a year for the bakery to open and finally it has!

I visited Sprinkles on yesterday around 6:30pm so they were sold out of most of their flavors.

However I was able to get a Red Velvet and a Dark Chocolate cupcake.
Photobucket
Review: I want to preface this review by saying that I have had Red Velvet cupcakes at Crave, Celebrity Cupcakes, It's a Treat Bakery, and Sugar Babies. I enjoy Red Velvet but I have yet to find a Red Velvet cupcake that reminds me of my great-grandmothers cake. WELL I FOUND IT!! The Red Velvet was great! The cream cheese frosting was perfect and the cake was moist and tasted extremely homemade. The Dark Chocolate cupcake was also good. I usually order Dark Chocolate at Crave and I have always enjoyed it, however the Dark Chocolate at Sprinkles was perfect!

I had low expectations for Sprinkles simply, because it is a chain and it has been highly advertised in the media I loved the two cupcakes I tried and I will be returning to Sprinkles as often as possible. This is NOT good for my diet!
