Crazy for Canada

Well guys I made it back from Toronto late last night and I could not wait to tell you all about my trip! I took tons of pictures but I decided to show you guys pictures of things I loved about Toronto and Canada in general.

Great Views

It was pretty evident once my Mother and I crossed the boarder that Canada was going to be beautiful. Any time I travel somewhere new I always check and see if the city has a hop on hop off tour and lucky me Toronto has one! I use the tour as a way to see the city (sitting down) and get great pictures. Toronto's hop on hop off tour offered a great boat tour which was a highlight.  I recommend the sightseeing tour to anyone unfamiliar with Toronto but I will warn you that the tour bus drivers move through the sights a bit fast so you have to be quick with your camera.

Yummy Food

You guys know how much I love food and Toronto totally delivers in the food department.  I would love to visit Toronto again just to try more restaurants. I had some wonderful seafood and fresh fruit and veggies. I took pictures of all my meals but these were my favorites.

Top Left: Crab Salad Sandwich Bottom Left: Caesar Salad (yes a normal simple dish but when done right it can be amazing!) Top Right: Salmon and Sun-dried Tomato Risotto Bottom Right: Crab Ravioli

St. Lawrence Market

St. Lawrence Market was by far my favorite place in Toronto. I am so bummed I was not in the city on the weekend to see the Farmer's Market. St. Lawrence Market offered millions (yes millions) of fresh products ranging from cupcakes to seafood to wine. I loved the market so much I had to vist twice! St. Lawrence Market is a must do for anyone visiting Toronto.

Roaming Around

I stated before that I was in Toronto during the week so this could be different on the weekends but I felt like Toronto was an easy city to navigate. I used my cell phone most of the time whenever I was in an unfamiliar area and I felt like I could stop and check street signs freely without feeling rushed by locals passing by. I also felt like I could stop on the street and take pictures without feeling like everyone around me was aware that I was a tourist. People in Toronto seemed kind and carefree and I really enjoyed that.

 Niagara Falls

I feel like Niagara Falls speaks for itself. I took over 50 pictures of this breathtaking wonder of the world and I just can't  seem to find one that really shows how truly amazing it is.

Maid of the Mist

Now I said St. Lawrence Market was my favorite thing in Toronto however the Maid of the Mist was my favorite thing in Canada! I can not think of a single reason why someone would not take this opportunity if they have it. I mean under 20 dollars to get an up close and personal experience with the Falls! My clothing did not get wet because I was wearing a spiffy blue pancho but my legs and face were soaked. It is important to know that the you go directly in front of the falls so make sure to cover anything you dont want soaked. I did not take many pictures while on the boat because I was afraid to get my camera wet however my mom and several people around me kept their cameras out.

Packed and Ready for Canada

I'm sure some of my friends are looking at the above picture and wondering if I did this by myself. Guys I am a horrible, horrible packer. I am the person that brings twenty outfits and then I forget my bras or something else essential. I wanted to show you guys how I packed this time so that I am sure I have everything I need and nothing I don't.

My friend Tiffany used the plastic bag method a year ago when we went to Washington DC and I laughed at her. Well the joke was on me because I ended up having to go out and buy something because I forgot something I needed. This time I made sure to try on every single outfit so that I knew what I needed for it. Inside of the bag I put my accessories I need and any undergarments. That way I can just grab a bag and get dressed in the morning.

Last year I ordered a lunch box from Thirty-One and it came out wrong. They let me keep the bag and sent me the right one; but I didn't know what to do with my flawed bag. I decided it would make a great make up bag for traveling. I can just grab the handel and head to the bathroom. Plus it's huge!

I make sure to always travel with a huge bag so I can stuff my blanket and Ipad inside. I packed a smaller bag for walking around Toronto.

What's In My Bag

Camera
Baby Lips
Sun Glasses inside pouch
Keys
Anti-Bacterial
Bose Noise Canceling Headphones
An old Wallet- I like to travel with an older wallet because I know it won't be filled with important papers and change that would be in my normal wallet. All I have inside is my passport, driver license, cash and debit card.

Insta-Sentiments

I know I have been missing in action the past two weeks and I am so sorry! This weekend I went to New Orleans for a bachelorette party. I thought I would share some of my Instagram photos with you guys.

These dare cards were so fun! The cards included such things as: Ask for a man's sock, get 5 kisses on the cheek in one minute, trade a piece of clothing with a guy, and my favorite; have someone propose to you.

 Yummy Hurricanes from Pat O'Brians!
Of course I had my share of cajun food but I just loved my pesto veggie pizza!

I won a bit of money at Harrah's

I shared this yummy drink with a friend while walking down Bourbon Street.

I had a great time in New Orleans!

Vegas Survival Guide

I just returned from wonderful Las Vegas! The last time I visited Vegas was for my 21st birthday. Back then I was younger didn't require as much sleep. While I was visiting this time I learned a few things that I think everyone should.

1. You have to drink water even when you're not thirsty!!

Now wait!! Before you try and put a 12 pack of water in your suitcase just listen. People sell cold bottled water on the streets for $1.00 and some stores sell it for 65 cents. I would not go to your hotel gift shop to buy water or worry about bringing any from home.

2. Over Pack!!

Yes, I said OVER pack. I'm sure you're thinking I'm crazy right now but trust me I'm not. You are going to need at least two changes of clothes during the day and one outfit for clubs or restaurants at night. You also may spend more time by the pool then you would on a normal vacation so bring a few swim suits. My advice is pack two outfits for each day that you will be there then one outfit for every night.

3. During the day screw the cute shoes!!

I learned this the hard way. No matter how many times you go to Vegas you will at some point walk the strip and you are going to want shoes that are comfortable. Ladies it's Vegas the one place on earth where you can wear those super shiny 8" heels with your super tight "Freakem Dress". Save your feet the pain and wear some plain old sneakers during the day so you can wear you cute shoes at night.

Big City Bright Lights!

I recently went on a trip to New York City and I spent a great amount of time just walking around and getting to know the city. When I travel I am known to shy away from all things tourist but I did visit Serendipity. I had goat cheese nachos (Have I mentioned that I am the person that tries the weird/different thing on the menu?) which were really good. The frozen hot chocolate was actually pretty good however I honestly did not love it.
This is the original Frozen Hot Chocolate. I had the Peanut Butter.

OK lets just keep discussing food!

I had to visit Magnolia Bakery! The cupcake on the left is chocolate and the cupcake on the right is devils food. I eat A LOT of cupcakes here in Houston but the cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery were by far my favorite.

My favorite snack I had in NYC were these mini cupcakes. I got them at a place called Baked by Melissa while walking  near Union Square. These cupcakes are bite size and taste way to good to only eat three. I had red velvet, cookies and cream and mint.

Yes I did eat actual food while I was in New York.
Rickshaw Dumplings! These dumplings were so light and full of flavor I crave them at least once a day now!

I had a wonderful time in New York. I loved being able to walk out of my hotel and being able to find so many things within walking distance. The picture below is my favorite picture from New York City because it sums up my experience.

My friend and I were walking around Union Square on a Saturday morning when all of a sudden we heard music. We walked towards a crowd of people to see a parade. The fact that their was a random parade on a random Saturday morning was so interesting to me. Yes, I love the shopping in NYC and I also love the food but the fact that on any given day you can do anything you would like to do amazes me. I love NY!
