Month In Review: February

February was a pretty uneventful month. I challenged myself not to go shopping this month and I did it!  That explains the lack of outfit of the day post. Here are three things from this month that I have found useful or obsessed over.

I bought new running shoes! I got new Nike running shoes. I just love them.

I bought these new markers for work and I just love them.

Of course February is the month for Girl Scout cookies!

Risky Business

Mixing patterns used to be so taboo but when done right it's amazing!

Sweet Like Cinnamon

I cannot stop listening to this song! I love LDR's entire CD but this song just makes me so happy. It makes me think of summers back in high school!

Since we are talking about high school...this song reminds me of my besties back then.

Lusting for Spring

I love winter clothing but I cannot wait for Spring. Houston only gets a few weeks of Spring then it's Summer until early November!

The "IN' colors this spring!

I need these anthropology shoes badly!

Unconventional Remedies

My mother has become obsessed with Dr. Oz and all of his life improving ideas. She has bought me two products that I have quickly fallen in love with.

I have had a sore throat for the past week and with my work schedule I just do not have the time to go to the doctor. My mom bought me these throat lozenges Dr. Oz told her about. They actually work!! And not momentarily they seem to work for hours. I take maybe two a day when I need them.

My mom also bought Dickinson's Orignal Witch Hazel. I was going to talk about this in my January favorites post but I wanted to be sure I loved it. I use this every single day twice a day. After washing my face I apply this with a cotton ball. It makes my face feel fresh and it locks the moisture in! I also see that it is helping with my dark spots on my cheeks.

Pinning Over: Weight Loss

I read online that a great way to motivate yourself when trying to lose weight is blogging about it. Well I am not about to turn my trendy little blog into a weight loss blog but I am going to try and post updates at least once a month. I joined the biggest loser at work this week so it is time to get serious and trim down! I want to lose 20 pounds. Here are some of my favorite pins from my Get It Right Get It Tight board.
I am a coffee addict and I refuse to give up coffee! I make coffee at home but I know some of you frequent Starbucks.

This is going to be super helpful for me since I plan on running away the pounds.

I thought this was a must share!

All Brushed Up

This weekend was a sad one for everyone who has ever turned on a radio. The death of Whitney Houston will be burned into my mind forever. I was one of millions of little girls that believed that she could become a singer just like Whitney Houston. That is until I learned that I didn't have the skills.

I thought I would start this post by sharing my favorite Whitney Houston song with you guys.

This weekend I didn't feel like doing much but I knew I needed to get a new foundation brush. I have been using a Stippling Brush for the last year and recently I have started to hate it. I did a bit of research and decided the perfect brush for me would be the Sephora Collection Pro Foundation Airbrush #56.
When I paid for my brush I was informed that I was now a member of Sephora's V.I.B. club. Which means I will start receiving more coupons and special deals.  I can't wait to post about the cool new things I get. I think it is a bit funny that I am a V.I.B. because I do not feel that I am even close to a make up pro.
I started to dislike my Stippling Brush because I always felt like my make up would come off on anything my face touched. I always had to make sure I used my Make Up Forever HD finishing powder to set my foundation. With my new brush I feel like my make up goes on smooth and does not leave me worried about make up stains on my clothing.

The Outfit
Sunday morning I over slept and had no idea what I was going to wear to church. I quickly ran into my closet and found something simple to wear. I decided to use my green pants that I have worn several times  and my burgundy blazer (featured here). I quickly flat ironed my hair and added a beret.
Jean- Zara
Blazer- Zara

My favorite color is plaid

I have always had a love affair with plaid. I think it is so simple and clean. Plaid can look rustic, preppy or when paired with flannel even grunge chic!

That silly groundhog!

Last week was perfect! The days were in the high 70s and the nights in the low 60s. Perfect Houston weather. Well in true Houston fashion the temperature has changed drastically. I blame the Groundhog!

Boots- I.N.C. (Macy's)
What's up Hello Kitty rob in the background.
I was about to walk out of the house and I realized I could NOT go to work without tights on.

Puddles Won't Stop Me

Houston has been hit by a lot of rain lately. I had several errands to run Saturday morning so I decided to brave the weather and go to Central Market. I just love going to Central Market and tasting all the yummy things. I totally hit the jackpot because they were having a cookie sale. 6 cookies for three dollars! Of course I also got some healthy things too.
